UQ Activism[New Hampshire -- 7-2-2002] Since our press conference in D.C., scores of people -- victim family members included -- have asked UnansweredQuestions (UQ) about what could be done to assure an aggressive and open 9/11 investigation. In response, we at UnansweredQuestions.org have decided to spearhead a citizen activism campaign, beginning this Summer leading into the first open Joint Congressional Intelligence Committee Hearings now postponed until September. We intend to ask citizens to phone, fax, and email the offices of the four key Intelligence Committee chairmen: Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL), Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL), Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and Rep. Porter Goss (R-FL), and the Intelligence Committee office. We will ask U.S. citizens to take a half hour to one hour each day to sit by
the phone to call and /or fax these 5 offices to request an aggressive and open
investigation dealing with all key unanswered questions surrounding 9/11. If
the phone is busy (others share According to my research and experience, it will take only 250-350 3-5 minute calls EACH day to ONE OFFICE to render it unable to conduct normal business -- making your protest over soft investigations quite apparent. And if one of these Members is from YOUR state, make sure to let them know! We will also call for volunteers from key states and districts with vulnerable (51-56% of last election vote) Senators or Representatives to organize phone, fax, email campaigns to influence the vote PRIOR to the fall primaries or elections. In these races, we will attempt to make an aggressive 9/11 investigation THE key issue in the campaign. And remember the Senate Control is ONE VOTE, with the House down to only FOUR VOTE CONTROL with JC Watts retiring today. On June 28 I had a private meeting in her office with Governor Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), who is running for Senator in November, along with 3 victim family members -- making her aware of the important 9/11 issues and questions. She told me that she will watch the SEPTEMBER 10 NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY very carefully. It occurs the day before the one-year anniversary of the attacks; but more importantly, a hand-picked Bush confidante is challenging a sitting Republican to run against Shaheen. Congressman John Sununu, Jr. (R-NH), son of former NH Governor and Bush the
Elder Chief of Staff John Sununu, Sr., is challenging incumbent Senator Bob
Smith (R-NH) for the Republican nomination to run against Shaheen in November.
It is quite unusual to challenge a two term sitting Senator of the same party,
especially when the Senate control hangs in the balance! As the fall approaches, we will commence plans for possible rallies, conferences and personal lobbying in the halls of congress in Washington, DC just prior to the November elections in the House and Senate. So stay tuned to the UQ Activism Page! We will highlight the updates on the Home Page with a short sentence or notes of reminder. Are YOU with us? YOUR INFLUENCE COUNTS -- USE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
