About the 9/11 Truth AllianceThe 9/11 Truth Alliance is, at present, a loose association of concerned researchers from around the country, which came into embryonic form with a meeting held in New York City, in September of 2002. Its participants continue to work on this issue in various ways. The ad hoc Organizing Committee, (of the 9/11 Truth Alliance), represents the coalescing of a given group of individuals within that "Alliance": a critical mass of activity forming around the common desire for a national "citizens' commission." As an "ad hoc" group, we do not claim to have all the structures and policies now in place by which observers can have absolute faith in the credibility and unbiased nature of this commission process. There are some within our ranks who have already come to their own conclusions; and, as a reflection of an unbiased, investigative (and democratic), process, we as a group do not claim to know which of the various viewpoints and explanations, (as yet, if any), will ultimately prove to be the closest to the truth. A sufficient support does clearly exist, however, (amongst those of us on this committee), for the belief that only a rigorous adherence to an "unbiased," "objective" approach, (conclusions suspended until the process is complete), is capable of welcoming a wide enough variety of input, evidence, and perspective - such that the true nature of what happened in and around that day can become clear for all to see. Therefore, we want to make it clear that the ad hoc organizing committee is a transitional body only: a necessary catalyst in the creation of a formal body with fully-defined policies and procedures - wherein such disciplined principles will prevail. The actual name and character of this central, organizing body, ("steering committee"?), we leave to the process in which we invite you all to take part. We further suggest that alongside this development, the 9/11 Truth Alliance itself, (or some such named organization), will go through a similar transformation into more formalized body, with national, regional, and local chapters; the difference being, that while participation in the wider "Alliance" will be open to all, (subject to the democratic will of the participants involved), participation at the level of the central organizing body will be restricted to those who agree to adhere to a highly-disciplined, rigorous suspension of conclusions until all the facts are "in." Thus, some of the participants in the present "ad hoc Organizing Committee" may not be a part of its future incarnation... out of their own choice, and of our shared democratic will. For the moment, participation in the "ad hoc Organizing Committee" is open to all people who wish to further its work. Prospective participants should be aware that, while research and political discussion form a part of our work, the main emphasis is on the organizational tasks associated with the creation of a citizens' commission. Up until now, participants have been free to voice their own opinions on any and all topics. We are now moving into a phase where what we say and do today may make it more difficult for us to be on the ("steering") committee tomorrow. The "ad hoc Organizing Committee" asks its associates to clearly distinguish between publicizing the decisions and objectives of the organizing committee and expressing an interpretation of them. We also ask the general public to be aware that all who are publicizing the work of this committee are not necessarily representative of its democratic will. (Such is its ad hoc nature). For now, no single individual is mandated to post statements in the name this committee, (on the internet or in print). The only statements that are truly representative of the decisions arrived at by this committee are those that are signed as such. signed, To
