Updates
Because
the timeline is so extensive, people who've already seen it may find it hard
to locate recent entries. So all new entries since the last version are collected
here: February 1 1, 2003.
Articles
I'm beginning to write articles to help clarify some aspects of 9/11. I
make no claim to have an overall theory of what happened on 9/11, but I do have
some ideas on certain things. Also, hopefully these essays can help make some
complicated aspects of the timeline easier to understand. These are very in-depth
essays, with lots of pictures.

Two Ziad Jarrahs
Ziad Jarrah was in the two different places at the same time on more than
one occasion (August 24, 2002)

11's Smoking Gun: The Many Faces of Saeed Sheikh
His actions prove the involvement of Pakistan's secret service in the September

Recent Congressional inquiries into these two failed to expose the whole story,
including such details as unexplained late night limousine rides. (September

Summaries
As the timeline grows ever longer, its becoming harder and harder to keep track
of certain patterns of information. The "Categories" can help with
this, but some stories cut across categories. So the below gather all the entries
that make up a particular interesting story or pattern. There will be more of
these coming soon.

The Story of Alhazmi and Almihdhar

Categories
This story is so complicated and long, I've tried to break it into threads of
different colors to make it easier to digest. I've made separate pages for each
thread, in addition to webpages with all the threads together.

What is this timeline about?
This webpage is meant to be a comprehensive resource for anyone attempting to understand 9/11, the anthrax attacks, and the "war on terrorism." Once you start reading, I think it will become clear that there is much more going on than the "official story" claims. The mainstream media is the one that's failed to "connect the dots". There are an amazing amount of intriguing news stories that have squeaked into the media but not reached a wide audience, and/or have not been properly followed up or placed into context.
You might call some or all of this "conspiracy theory." The term "conspiracy theory" is bandied about to discredit ideas that run counter to what is widely believed. But sometimes the official story turns out to be a lie - look at what the Nixon Administration was claiming and the press generally reporting when the Watergate story was in its early stages, for instance. The alternative to conspiracy is "coincidence theory." At some point, when enough "dots" line up, the thought that everything is just coincidence becomes the wildest theory of all.
I don't know exactly what happened on 9/11. I have my theories and hunches, but it's an extremely complicated plot, and there are a number of plausible explanations for part or all of the story's aspects. Also, I don't want to force my ideas down your throat. I'm using the timeline to draw attention to interesting stories that you may not have read. I have tried to let the stories speak for themselves, and reduce my voice as much as possible. When I do add my own comments, they are usually at the end of a summary and in italics. Plus they are almost always phrased as a question. I hope you come to your own conclusions.
This timeline is veeeeery, very long. It's chock-full of information and may be difficult to get through. You may want to tackle a bit at a time (and if you're impatient, start from around July 2001 to get to the "good stuff"). But 9/11 was possibly one of the most pivotal events in world history, and it's impact will be felt on everyone for years to come. You owe it to yourself to go beyond the sound bites and the simplified official story. This is an extremely complicated story with numerous players and motives. Not everything makes sense or fits neatly together. It's a story full of espionage, deceit, and brazen lies. But if there are forces out there tricking us, they can only succeed if we, the general public, remain ignorant and passive.
Credits and sources
This timeline started when I saw the excellent timeline at the From the Wilderness website and began adding to it. I found that timeline to be a great resource, but it wasn't as comprehensive as I wanted. My version has since grown into something of a monster, but the inspiration still lies with From the Wilderness. I've credited all the original items I took with permission from From the Wilderness with FTW, which links back to their timeline.
I also have a slightly different approach to this timeline than they do. I am limiting my sources to only those one might call "mainstream." Why? It's not because I believe one can only trust the mainstream media. In fact, I feel the opposite is true - much of the best reporting today is coming from alternative media. But many people are initially very skeptical when they see an article by From the Wilderness or a similar source. A lot of material I found looking around the web seemed very hard to believe when I first saw it. The numerous media reports of an "Art student spy ring"? Come on, how weird is that! But if even, say, the Washington Post or CNN reports a particular fact, then might there be something to it? So my goal is to use mainstream sources to generally open eyes to new possibilities. Then, at the bottom of this document, I've provided a list of so called "alternative" or "conspiracy" websites you can access to learn more.
By the way, what do I mean by "mainstream"? My goal was to use sources that are not generally considered blatantly partisan (regardless of how correct they might be). Most people would call Rush Limbaugh or Greenpeace partisan; a newspaper like The Los Angeles Times is presumably at least trying to be "neutral". I've used a large amount of foreign sources, especially since these stories have often received much more attention in Europe than in the US. But I've tried to use common sense. For instance, a story in a Pakistani newspaper that reflects poorly on Pakistan would be much less likely to be propaganda than the same story coming from an Indian newspaper (and vice versa). In a few cases I've used partisan sources to add more detail to some stories; information or comments from partisan sources (including myself) is italicized.
Of course, a mainstream source doesn't guarantee the story will be all or partly true. Everyone these days knows how politicians and others "spin" events, and there can be many accidental errors too. But with so many entries, even though there may be red herrings, there still should be enough material to allow you to see overall patterns. Click on any of the links to read the source articles to judge for yourself and learn more. I have tried to include direct links to the original websites wherever I can but oftentimes this isn't possible, since webpage addresses frequently change or expire, and some have never been on the web in the first place.
Mirrors
Speaking of credits, big credit must go to Derek Mitchell for being the primary web host of this timeline. I don't know where this timeline would be without his help. Also thanks to Miles Thompson for mirroring the timeline at Unanswered Questions, and Bill St. Clair for mirroring the site as well. Please let me know if you'd like to mirror all or part of this webpage, as long as you properly credit and link back here (we'd especially like to have mirrors outside the US).
How you can
help
This timeline is a work in progress. If you have additional articles from
"mainstream" sources (preferably with weblinks), I'd be happy to consider
including them. Links and/or corrections to existing articles or statements
that need supporting would be great too. But please only send new articles that
fit into the below categories. There are many interesting events I could include,
such as post-9/11 and post-anthrax terrorist attacks and warnings, the coming
war with Iraq, the Afghanistan war details and so on, but the timeline is already
way too big to handle a wider scope. There are certain articles
I'm looking for and haven't been able to find. If you can find these, you
help is greatly appreciated.
I welcome constructive suggestions and comments. You can send feedback to paulthompson22b@yahoo.com.
Even better is if you post articles or comments at the People's
Investigation of 9/11 forums. It has a special
section on this timeline. There is a growing team of concerned individuals
meeting at those forums and helping to further develop this timeline, and further
9/11 research generally. Please spread the word!
Links
I found almost all of the articles above by wandering around the web, looking at websites that question the official version of events, and following leads mentioned. I wish I could reference which websites led me to which articles, but I didn't keep track of all of that data. Instead, here are some key websites I used that you can go to for more information. There's no doubt that if it weren't for the work of these websites, and many others like them, we wouldn't have a chance to really understand what happened on 9/11 until years afterwards, if ever. Some of these have a lot of non-9/11 content that is very controversial - conspiracy theory stuff, no doubt. Take it or leave it, but if Bush is guilty on this, isn't it likely that he's guilty on other things, and isn't it plausible that he wasn't the first to deceive the general populace?
In no special order:
The Peoples' Investigation of 9/11 Forums to discuss 9/11 and related issues. There is a special section focusing on the 9/11 timeline on these pages.
From the Wilderness The site that inspired this one. Excellent investigative reporting, on the forefront of getting the word out about 9/11.
Center for Cooperative Research Tons and tons of information, very methodical and academic. The main home of this 9/11 timeline.
Unanswered Questions So many 9/11 questions that need answering. This site is compiling them. The site includes a complete mirror of this timeline.
The Center for an Informed America Has an excellent weekly column summing up and providing links to important news stories, many 9/11 related.
What Really Happened This tireless website links to dozens of news stories a day, mostly stories that are important but little reported. An essential website worth checking daily, but it has a tendency to jumps to conclusions in its comments.
Mad Cow Productions Read investigative reporter Daniel Hopsicker's weekly reports here. Hopsicker is doing amazing research in Florida about 9/11 that virtually no one else has uncovered.
Online Journal Lots of excellent investigative reporting.
The Guardian This British newspaper has a "War on America" page with links to all their 9/11 related stories. If only all newspapers made it so easy to find archived stories!

Flight 93 Crash Theory Page Everything you want to know about Flight 93 can be found here. This site has even been referred to in mainstream Flight 93 stories on occasion.
The Propaganda Matrix A good site for daily alternative news, some news can be a bit "out there." Check out their Prior Knowledge Archive for 9/11 specifically.
The Jeff Rense Program This site can really be "out there", with lots of news on UFOs, crop circles, and the like. But still, an amazing number of articles on many topics get archived here every day, and there's a huge archive. Scroll down about halfway to get to the news.
The
Power Hour This site has large collections of 9/11 photos.
The Movement Well organized 9/11 site.
World Socialist Web Site Is the word "socialist" beyond the pale? It shouldn't be. Excellent new analysis, but sometimes marred by political dogma.
The Emperor's New Clothes This site has done some great, groundbreaking research in the past. But it can also occasionally be spectacularly wrong, as in its recent assertion that 9/11 had nothing to do with oil.
Sniegoski on the Empire I found many articles through Stephen J. Sniegoski's work.
Peter Dale Scott He has been exposing the deep politics behind events for decades. Lately he's been focusing on the drugs and oil connections to 9/11.
9-11.co.uk Lots of things, not only 9/11 related.
Democratic Underground Forums from a liberal perspective; this links to a forum discussing 9/11 and related issues
Antiwar Keep an eye out especially for Justin Raimondo's regular columns - he's been in the forefront of "art student" spy ring stories.
Annotated Timeline of the 9/11 Hijackers One posting on the Free Republic news forum, but a very informative one, outlining the movements of the 9/11 hijackers. (Note that it is selective - the poster has called anyone who believes in government complicity as "scum" and omits any evidence pointing in that direction)
ISI - State Within a State A site devoted to collecting stories on the ISI.
September 11: No Surprise I found a lot of leads here.
Infowars: Resources page Another 9/11 article archive.
Lebanon Wire: Terror Wars Scroll down, and click on "Terror Wars" - the link changes monthly. For some strange reason, you can get a better collection of daily news stories on the "war on terror" in Lebanon than the US.
